A chatbot is a computer program that mimics human conversation over the internet. They are used in a variety of ways, including lead generation, customer service, and personal assistance. Chatbots are becoming increasingly popular because they can save businesses time and money while also providing a more personalized experience for customers.

OpenAI Chat-GPT

ChatGPT is a large language model (LLM) chatbot developed by OpenAI. It is built on OpenAI's GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 families of LLMs and has been fine-tuned using both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques. ChatGPT was first launched in November 2022 and it has 1.3B parameters. With its relatively small size compared to other popular LLMs, ChatGPT is more efficient in terms of training requirements and memory consumption.

Strengths:

  • Can generate text in different creative formats such as poems, code, scripts, musical pieces, email, letters, etc.

  • Smaller in size, meaning less data is needed for training. The model can also be stored and run on devices with limited memory and processing power.

  • It can be more easily fine-tuned to specific tasks or domains with smaller amounts of data.

Weaknesses:

  • Quality of text may not be as good as larger LLMs since it doesn't have as many parameters.

  • Not as good at understanding natural language as some other LLMs.

  • More prone to overfitting due to its smaller size.

Google Bard

Very similar to Chat-GPT in size and scope, Bard is a large language model chatbot developed by Google AI. Its was first released in January 2023 and have 137 billion parameters. It has been trained on a massive dataset of text and code, and able to communicate and generate human-like text in response to a wide range of prompts and questions. For example, it can provide summaries of factual topics or create stories.

Strengths:

  • Can follow your instructions, even if they aren’t in perfect form.

  • Answer your questions in a comprehensive and informative way, even if they are open ended, challenging, or strange.

  • Generate different creative text formats like poems, code, scripts, musical pieces, email, letters, etc

Weaknesses:

  • Still under development, so I may make mistakes from time to time.

  • Cannot guarantee that it will always be able to satisfy your requests.

  • Still learning, so it may not be able to answer all of your questions.

There are also multiple ways to engage with Bing AI chat, allowing it to be used for different needs.

Strengths:

  • Supports multiple dialogue formats

  • Can use and apply multiple languages

  • Can generate text in multiple formats, such as poems.

Weaknesses:

  • Cannot always understand natural language

  • Cannot easily be customized

Character AI

Character.ai is a chatbot app powered by neural language model-generated chatbots. Users create unique characters based on what the chatbot should know or say, and these are stored in the system. The characters can be private or shared with other users. The chatbots can converse with users in real time for multiple turns, remember users by name and what they say, have personalities that are programmed by users, and follow complex instructions.

Strengths:

  • The ability to create unique and engaging characters

  • Its open platform that allows for creativity and collaboration

  • The ability to remember users and what they say

  • The ability to follow complex instructions

Weaknesses:

  • Is still under development and may not be accessible to the public anytime soon

  • The quality and helpfulness of its answers may be limited by the quality and helpfulness of the information it finds on Google Search
